The motivation and objective of Sandoll Jeongche are to develop body text fonts that address shortcomings of the current body text fonts, by proposing a type-setting method with a clear design goal.

The structure is designed to help differentiate each character easily, and the contours of the strokes have distinct forms. The font family is expanded revolving around three axes: skeleton, weight, and width so that characters can create various atmospheres while maintaining consistency. There are three-digit numbers coming after the name “Sandoll Jeongche”. The first digit, skeleton, indicates the extent of contemporariness, and a higher number means a more contemporary style. The second digit indicates weight, and a higher number means a heavier weight. The third digit indicates width, and a smaller number means a narrower style.
